We went to meet Denis O'hara, David Boisclair and Enrique Garcia, exceptional foremen at Roy. They are there to support employees in the field and make sure everything runs smoothly day to day. Always attentive and available to everyone, that's why they're so appreciated by their team.

Between you and me, we'd love to be able to clone them so we could have more like them!

Let's discover what makes them so unique in their leadership style, their ambitions and their perception of the organization.

Contract managers who embody kindness

Essential to the smooth running of contracts, Denis, David and Enrique's primary mission is to welcome, train and support employees throughout their work experience at Roy. while ensuring excellent service is delivered to clients.

To achieve this, these foremen carry out their work with truly engaging leadership and rare authenticity.

Denis, the friendly-and-direct one

With over 30 years of service at Roy., Denis can certainly be presented as a veteran of the trade. Denis is a devoted and welcoming man who manages his team with a great deal of wisdom and sincerity. A bit like a father figure would...

"My greatest strength is teamwork. With me, there's no grey area: I'm direct with my staff, but caring in my approach. I'm very proud of my employees' work. I'll always make myself available to my team members to properly guide them in their day-to-day work."

David, the optimistic-and-approachable one

Davis Boisclair

David knows the realities of the trade well, with over 17 years of experience at Roy. His extensive expertise in the field allows him today to be a great mentor for his team members. David can be described as a conductor who fosters a harmonious and welcoming work environment.

"I'm very humble and grateful in my role as foreman. I stay close to my employees and their reality. I want to build a tight-knit, high-performing team that enjoys coming to work! It's possible, I have the proof with my team."

Enrique, the empathetic communicator

Enrique Garcia

A trade manager, Enrique has been working for several months as a supervisor of major contracts at Roy. Passionate and empathetic, he values communication and knowledge-sharing within his team.

"Communication is the key to a high-performing team where people feel good. I'll always be honest in my approach and understanding of my team's needs and personal situations. I see the potential in my team members and I want to help them thrive within the company."

Three people, one shared mission

Three different management styles, one shared motivation: the well-being of their team members. That's what drives Denis, David and Enrique every day in their respective roles at Roy.

"I treat employees the way I'd want to be treated if I were in their shoes. It's thanks to small gestures (like bringing hot chocolate during shifts!) that you build a positive atmosphere within a team. I sincerely want the best for my employees!"

- Enrique Garcia

To build tight-knit, caring teams, our three leaders foster a close relationship with their employees.

"I want my employees to see me as an ally. I have a lot of expectations for my team, but I give them all the tools they need to succeed and feel good at work. If a challenge comes up, I want them to feel comfortable coming to talk to me about it!"

- Denis O'hara

Always ready to pitch in

Our three managers are such great leaders because they're never afraid to lend a hand to their teams when there's a need in the field. It's a way of building mutual support among colleagues and staying close to their employees' reality.

"I have a good understanding of the work and the tasks involved, since I worked as a commercial cleaning attendant for several years myself. I know the ins and outs of the trade and the challenges of the routes very well. I'm always ready to reconnect with the tasks when there's a need in the field. It lets me stay close to my team and remain connected."

- David Boisclair

Accomplished managers = happy employees

The way Enrique, Denis and David lead their teams certainly reflects all the recognition they receive from their own directors. This (thoroughly deserved) appreciation acts as fuel that motivates each of them individually to become the best possible leader for their team. That's the best-employer culture, cascaded and carried through every level of the organization. The leaders' mission is simple: deliver the best employee experience in the world!

Enrique says he's proud to work for such an authentic and caring company that recognizes his work:

"A few weeks after starting my journey at Roy., I received a call from Julie Roy who wanted to congratulate me on the work I'd accomplished. It was the first time for me that the president of a large company took the time to speak with me to share her appreciation of my work. That call confirmed that I'd chosen the right employer for me and that I was going to stay at Roy. for a long time."

Leaders in constant growth

Roy. is an organization that never stops evolving and improving. That's why these three men have the opportunity to take ongoing training to adapt their management approach to today's workforce.

Denis tells us about the benefits of the leadership training that managers currently have the chance to take: "In 30 years of career, I've noticed that employees' needs have evolved. It makes me proud that Roy. always seeks to improve to stay attractive to new recruits. I get to grow along with it and be better able to meet the needs of the newer generations."
