A caring company culture, passed down from generation to generation
In 2013, following the retirement of her father, Jean-Yves Roy, Julie Roy was promoted to President and CEO at Roy. She thus achieved her childhood dream of leading the family business founded in 1954 by her grandfather, Guy Roy.
"Ever since I was little, I heard my grandfather and my father talk about what they managed to do at Roy. for customers and for employees. I always saw people who were happy to work at Roy. I've always had a great deal of affection for this organization."
For Julie Roy, it was essential that growth never come at the expense of her employees' well-being or the organization's family spirit. It's safe to say that mission has been a success! Today, with more than 2,800 employees, Julie Roy carries on the work started by her family by building a best-employer culture. Her strategy? Keep pursuing the Roy. dream by investing first and foremost in her people.
Romain Thibault, a member of the Roy. team since 1981, shares his perspective on the company on this topic : "The organization has always listened, always been there to help me when I had problems. There's a family spirit that was there from the start and is still present today. Since the founding grandfather, management has always stayed close to the people here. I'm proud to work at Roy."
Happy employees = happy customers
Julie Roy knows that the best way to ensure operational excellence and a memorable customer experience is by investing in the team.
Indeed, an employee who is happy and feels good within the company helps build the brand's reputation, becomes its best ambassador, and delivers flawless service.
"We know that it's our 2,800 employees who contribute, every day, to our reputation for excellence. And we are extremely grateful for that. That's why they will always be my priority."
Authenticity as a core value
Authenticity is one of Roy.'s core values. Even today, it's the foundation the company relies on to recruit and retain its key players — that powerful, humble ability to be genuine, without pretense.
"We are authentic. We're not afraid to show that scrubbing toilets is also part of the task list. That's the reality of the trade. Being a commercial cleaner is a demanding job, and when our new recruits show up at the worksite, there are no surprises."
Beyond being authentic, Roy. is also a company that champions solidarity. Lasting bonds of mutual support and camaraderie form within our teams, and that's one of Roy.'s greatest strengths. It's this rare family spirit that sets us apart from the competition.
